Singing Stars
Throughout 2019, Tania Norman embraced the power of music to raise over £350 in aid of brainstrust with the support of her friends and fellow members of Hampshire’s Cantando Female Voice Community Choir.
Tania’s journey into the world of music started around six years ago. Singing in such a fabulous choir is a passion that has since brought an enormous amount of joy to Tania’s life, especially following the shock of her brain tumour diagnosis three years ago.
Below, Tania shares her inspiration behind raising funds for brainstrust by doing what she loves most – singing with her friends.
Tania’s Story
Being told over the phone that I had a brain tumour was a huge life shock. In that moment, life as I had known it stopped and took another direction altogether.
I’m just so happy to be able to give back. I know that they are always there for support and understanding. In the midst of my confusion and helplessness I found brainstrust and reached out to them. They have helped me, been there over the phone and email when I couldn’t make sense of what was happening to me and that in turn has helped my family. So the decision to fund raise for the charity was an easy one…
I’m lucky enough to be in an amazing choir and I brought along the brainstrust charity bucket for the year and I’m delighted to say I managed to raise over £350!

We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Tania, Cantando FMC Choir, and everyone who generously contributed towards this fantastic fundraising total. The funds raised not only enables us to provide personalised 24/7 support from the point of diagnosis, but also allows us to build resources that help people with a brain tumour to become stronger. This is something we simply couldn’t do without the amazing support we receive from people just like you. Thank you.
