Kayleigh Street is one of brainstrust’s superstar patients who we are helping to get back on top of things following a brain tumour diagnosis. Kayleigh held her own #TEAFEST event on Saturday to raise some funds and awarenes for brain tumour support. Here’s what she had to say…
I held my #TEAFEST this Saturday (22nd) – a little earlier than the official dates, but this was to help my teaching friends fully enjoy the event before they headed back to school after half term.
I invited family, friends and colleagues to join me in drinking tea, eating cake and most importantly, raising money for brainstrust in my living room. My aim was to raise enough money to pay for one Brain Box (which I was lucky enough to receive after my diagnosis, way back in October ’13.)
We haven’t finished counting up all the loose change yet, but some of the donations were extremely generous and we’ve definitely passed the £100 mark, which is amazing. People who were unable to come have pledged to donate directly through the website. Everyone enjoyed the event, we took lots of ‘selfteas’ and I’m sure I will be hosting a few more in years to come. Here are some photos…
Love the #selftea Kayleigh! Thank you so much for helping us.
It’s dead easy to get involved in #TEAFEST, and it’s not too late. Click here to find out more…
