A study by ST Keir of Duke University (USA) and published in the BMJ Supportive and Palliative Care journal found that distressed brain tumour patients who received eight massages over a four-week period experienced significant improvement in their distress level.
Our thoughts on this? Yes, of course we’d like to see every brain tumour cured. But today, the prognosis for many brain tumour patients isn’t great. As such there should be much more focus on researching interventions and treatments that make life better for brain tumour patients. Indeed, people will be living with brain tumours for longer before a cure is found.
