A record amount for Grimsby Job Centre
As we welcomed the New Year, we were thrilled to hear from the team at Grimsby Job Centre who very kindly selected brainstrust as one of their chosen charities throughout 2019.
Following a year of great success, we are honoured to announce their record-breaking fundraising total of £1,740.00, to be shared between their three chosen charities. Our Community Fundraiser, Sophie, traveled to Grimsby on Monday to visit the wonderful team whose passion, hard work and fantastic fundraising efforts prove nothing short of inspirational.
Speaking about their year of fundraising, Nick Gregory (Employer and Partnership Manager), said “The money was raised through a number of different events. The People Engagement Team at Grimsby Bridge House rounded off a hugely successful year with a Christmas auction containing almost 50 fantastic prizes. These ranged from a car service to a bottle of whiskey, tickets to a Liverpool Legends evening to a unicorn teapot, with many other prizes in between. In addition, we held a car boot sale, ran quizzes, name cards and raffles throughout the year. Our staff had a lot of fun raising the money and we are delighted to be able to donate it to such a worthwhile cause.”
On Monday, the team presented brainstrust with a cheque for £580.00. This incredible amount will fund the cost of three Meetups, where we invite brain tumour patients and their loved ones to join us for dinner. Hosted regionally, we aim to give everyone the opportunity to meet other people with similar experiences, offering them the space to talk in a friendly and stress-free environment. Our next Meetup will take place at Pizza Express in Doncaster on Tuesday 28th January at 6pm. If you live locally to Doncaster and have been affected by a brain tumour, we would love for you to attend. To book your place, simply visit Meetup.com. Here, you can also view our upcoming workshops and events across the UK.
A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone at Grimsby Job Centre. As you can see, their support truly does make an incredible difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
