A great day and such generous support shown by all for brainstrust.
brainstrust has supported the Hammond family and they wanted to say thank you. Sue Hammond has shared with us details of their exciting fundraising day, which included a signed Pele shirt and a Ferrari, read on to find out more!
The Tavistock Cricket club was the perfect venue for this joint presentation and fund raiser day. Tavistock Community Football Club Ladies Team held its belated presentation at the club alongside the fundraiser for brainstrust.
The trophies were kindly sponsored by Steve Hone, local builder. The ladies came third in the premier division of the Westward development league. Individual trophies were awarded to Tanya Coker (Managers Player). Kate Cox (Most improved) Kirsty Jones (Players Player) and Kate Glasspoole (Most Player of the matches) Guest Presenter was Matt Fiddes, local martial arts expert and ex body guard to Michael Jackson. Matt handed out the trophies and supported brainstrust by offering his Ferrari for a weekend to the highest bidder.
Organisers of the event Sue and Jeff Hammond aimed to raise £1000 by selling tickets to the event which included barbecue, raffle of original signed PELE football shirt, traditional country games, a quiz and donations. The total raised surpassed that and the total sum was over £1500 with money still coming in from other sources. The games were well supported and great fun was had with the sumo wrestling, especially after a few drinks in the club house.
