Emma Chapman of Mad Hatter’s Tea Parlour took the brave step of cutting her long hair in order to raise money for our support service. The haircut was in memory of her friend, Tony Gouldman, who passed away of a brain tumour in June. brainstrust had supported Tony and his wife Sally following diagnosis.
It’s not the first time Emma has fundraised for brainstrust. In January she held high tea at her Mad Hatter’s Tea Parlour, alongside Tony and Sally. The haircut was just another way of giving back to the charity that has helped those close to her.
“I feel passionate about helping brainstrust who can help those and their families in need with the support they can offer… I will admit I was a bit scared, but not as scared as those who are actually diagnosed with these diseases- mine is just 8 inches off my hair which will grow back, they need more support and care than I do”
Emma’s haircut raised an incredible amount- over £600- money which will be spent supporting more people like Tony and Sally, and help them feel less afraid, less alone and more in control in the face of diagnosis.
Emma, you’re amazing!
