The role of neuropsychology in the treatment and management of brain tumours
Thursday 10 June, 11-12.30pm
The focus of this session will be about the role of neuropsychology services in the care of people living with a brain tumour diagnosis.
Dr. Patrick Murphy, Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, has very kindly offered to talk to us about the role of neuropsychology.
He will be able to explain and demystify some of the processes around neurological assessment, the impact that a brain tumour can have on cognition, and why this is important for rehabilitation.
Dr Murphy will also talk about the importance of psychological adjustment and give an overview of strategies for adjustment, acceptance, and living with uncertainty.
If you are impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis, as a patient, caregiver or healthcare professional, do come along to this webinar to learn more about how psychological support can help reduce the impact of emotional problems such as anxiety and depression when living with a brain tumour diagnosis, and facilitate adjustment to diagnosis and disability.
