On 3rd March, 14 runners represented team brainstrust at the Cambridge Half Marathon. There mission was to complete the course and raise funds for our vital work with the brain tumour community. This is our first year at the event as a Charity, and for many this was their first Half Marathon.
The race is flat and fast. It took place on closed roads, and passed famous historical landmarks. These included The Bridge of Sighs and The Wren Library.
Ash Hawkins, Fundraising Events Manager for brainstrust, met the runners on race day. He says “What a perfect day it was for running, with clear skies, no wind and thankfully no rain”.
Ash adds, “Our team of runners at the Cambridge Half Marathon had been training and fundraising so hard. It was great to meet some of them in person and thank them personally for their fundraising efforts.”
The team had a fundraising target of £300 each, but between them raised an amazing £8358.14 .
