A week of fundraising
Next week, Izzy and her partner, Stu, have organised two very special fundraising days in support of brainstrust.
Eerie Ink
The first takes place at Stu’s tattoo studio, Eerie Ink in Walsall. The team are offering themed tattoos on Monday 24th May from 10am – 6pm. Customers are able to come along and pick a pre-made tattoo of their choice, donating £30 towards Eerie Ink’s fantastic fundraising total.
When speaking about the inspiration behind this event, Stu said:
“I’ve seen first hand how there is a lack of support for services around people with a brain tumour. I wanted to help out a little bit, considering how much you have helped me already.”
Wear Grey
On Wednesday 26th May, Izzy will be delivering a very personal presentation about life with a brain tumour to students at St. Matthias, where Izzy works as a science teacher.
“I’ll be spending the day teaching and talking to pupils and staff about what I, and so many, live with.”
The school are taking part in a Wear Grey day, raising vital funds and awareness in support of the brain tumour community. Students at St. Matthias will be donating £1 to wear an item of grey clothing, helping to represent the 60,000 people living with a brain tumour here in the UK. One of those people is Izzy, who recently described why she’s passionate about the cause:
“I am raising money because in the short time of contacting brainstrust you changed my future instantly and you helped me get the care I needed and knew I deserved. I am forever grateful to you for that.”
We’d like to thank Izzy and Stu for their incredible fundraising efforts. Their support goes above and beyond, and helps to ensure that brainstrust can continue to be there people with a brain tumor, and their loved ones. We hope they have a fabulous week of fundraising, and we look forward to hearing all about their wonderful events!
