Despite the best efforts of the weather to turn us into ice sculptures, our first Clay Shoot proved really successful.
It was held at Owl’s Lodge Shooting School in Hampshire owned and run by Olympic Gold Medallist, Richard Faulds. Richard’s father, Bruce Faulds sadly died from a brain tumour just before the New 2010 Year. Our charity is a cause dear to Richard’s heart and he wanted to hold this event in memoriam to his father. So successful was it that it will now become an annual event to the delight of all the guests of the day.
We had over 80 guns competing and prizes included Top Score Gun, High Gun, Top Lady Gun and best Junior Gun. Richard presented the Bruce Faulds Memorial Shoot Cup to the Top Gun and medals to the other winners. A silent auction with 14 super prizes produced fierce bidding.
The day raised over £2,000 for brainstrust, which for our very first ‘solo’ Clay Shoot is tremendous. Richard has also agreed to become a Patron of brainstrust which is great news and definitely help towards increasing our awareness.
Our grateful thanks to all who attended the Bruce Faulds Memorial Shoot and we promise to hold it in warmer weather next year!
