brainstrust is delighted to be involved with Cochrane UK. The Cochrane Collaboration is a global independent network of health practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others, responding to the challenge of making the vast amounts of evidence generated through research useful for informing decisions about health.
So we now have a hotline to Cochrane so that we can share with you the latest research around brain cancer. And here is the first summary for you to read:
Traditionally, the standard of care for people with anaplastic oligodendrogliomas and anaplastic oligoastrocytomas (brain tumours) has been surgery followed by radiotherapy. However, the benefit of post surgery (adjuvant) chemotherapy and radiotherapy is still unclear. In addition, the value of chromosome markers is also under investigation. This summary investigates published research up to March 2014 about this topic. You can read the conclusions by clicking on the link.
