Susan’s garden party fundraiser was her way of giving back to brainstrust, the charity who supported her throughout her brain tumour journey. The party was a resounding success, raising an incredible £735!
In Susan’s own words:
When I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, the charity’s written materials were immensely helpful. Following my surgery last October, the 8 counselling sessions provided invaluable support. Unable to participate in the recent London Walk due to my health, I decided to host my own fundraising day to give back and raise awareness among my friends and I organised an all-day drop-in tea, coffee, and cake event in my garden, combining two of my passions: baking and gardening. Throughout the day, approximately 60 people joined us in the sunshine to enjoy delicious treats.
£735 could fund 18 brain boxes, essential toolkits for individuals and caregivers facing a new brain tumour diagnosis. Each brain box is fully customisable, tailored to provide resources specific to each unique situation, along with comforting treats like teabags and self-care items.
Thank you, Susan, and to all who attended and donated to this wonderful event!
