We’re honoured to share the story of Genna, an incredible individual whose journey through life with a brain tumour has been both challenging and uplifting. Despite the obstacles she faces, Genna’s determination and positive spirit shine through.
In her own words, she describes how brainstrust has been a source of unwavering support, and how walking the Edinburgh Kiltwalk became a powerful way to give back. Her story is one of resilience, community, and the strength that comes from never walking the path alone.
I chose to support brainstrust by taking on the Kiltwalk—an exhilarating challenge that had its highs and, naturally, some tough moments (especially between the 19th and 21st miles!). Raising vital funds and giving back felt important because brainstrust has been there for me in many ways.
I live with a benign brain tumour called a Colloid Cyst which has had a significant impact on my life. The physical and emotional challenges of living with a brain tumour can be overwhelming at times, but brainstrust has provided me with a lifeline of support that I’ll be forever be grateful for. Their community has given me a sense of belonging—a reminder that I’m not alone in this journey.
Thank you to everyone who supported me, and to brainstrust for continuing to make such a positive impact in my life and the lives of so many others.
Thank you, Genna, for sharing your inspiring story and for your incredible dedication to supporting brainstrust. Your strength, resilience, and generosity not only help raise awareness but also inspire others to take action. We are deeply grateful for your efforts and for being such an important part of our community.
