Whilst we’re a relatively small charity on the global stage, with our Patient Research Involvement Movement (PRIME) we make sure patients of all ages have a big voice.
This weekend we are championing your voice in paediatric brain tumour research with the BRAINatomy Team at the 2024 Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C) Scientific Summit.
The SU2C’s Scientific Summit is an annual gathering of SU2C’s leadership and prominent cancer investigators representing SU2C’s scientific portfolio of individual and team cancer research grants. During the Summit, researchers share their progress towards ending cancer and helping people impacted by the disease survive and thrive.
brainstrust, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the BRAINatomy team in shaping the patient advocacy strategy within the SU2C-CRUK Paediatric Cancer New Discoveries Challenge programme.
Dr. Helen Bulbeck, founder of brainstrust, will join the BRAINatomy team at the Summit this weekend in America which demonstrates how they are working globally to represent patient advocacy in research and trials related to brain tumours. The team involved includes Dr Kate Vaughan, James Adams, Catherine Fitton, Josh Goddard, Martin McCabe and Adam Thomson.
The SU2C-CRUK Pediatric Cancer New Discoveries Challenge is a transformative initiative that seeks to promote innovative approaches and foster collaborations in paediatric cancer research. This study looks at the research on paediatric brain tumours with a specific focus on understanding the effects of radiation on cognition in young people with brain tumours. The BRAINatomy team has been selected to present work at the conference which exemplifies how public and patient involvement has played a fundamental part in the design, execution and funding of this important work.
