You wore grey, you changed lives.
The fundraising total for Wear Grey 2022 is in and we are blown away! Wear Grey 2022 marked 10 years since the first time we called on you to Wear Grey to raise awareness of brain tumours. This year we asked you to get louder than ever about brain tumours and you did not disappoint. In total you raised £21,315.43!
Our social media was filled with pictures of you wearing grey and letting the world know why it’s so important to raise awareness of brain tumours.
To mark 10 years of Wear Grey we have produced a limited edition Wear Grey t-shirt with designer Rhys Coren. Rhys’ new t-shirt design for Wear Grey brings some welcome noise to a, sometimes dull, grey, the internationally recognised colour for brain tumours. The ampersand in the centre of the design stands for togetherness, and community – both central tenets of brainstrust’s work. These new designs proved very popular, and it was great to see you rocking the new t-shirts in your pictures – a reminder that grey doesn’t have to be dull it can be empowering and loud too!
On the Thursday of Wear Grey week we hosted a colour themed quiz and invited you to join us to mark Wear Grey together and enjoy an evening of friendly competition. Thank you to everyone who came along.
It remains the case that 30 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour every day in the UK, it also remains the case that too many of these people and their families will find themselves facing the road ahead without the support they need. By Wearing Grey and raising vital awareness and funds you have helped ensure we can continue to be there for the people who come to us alone and afraid after a brain tumour diagnosis.
We will continue to work hard supporting people with a brain tumour and their loved ones to live their best life possible. We will continue campaigning hard to raise awareness of the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis and do everything we can to help improve the care and support available to people living with a brain tumour and their loved ones. You can find out more about our impact and how we help here.
We would like to thank each and every person who supported Wear Grey 2022. Your kindness and generosity truly does mean the world to the people we support.
