Join us for a heartfelt tribute at the Nottingham Poetry Festival, honouring the memory of Benjamin while supporting brainstrust’s vital mission.
Date: Sunday 16th June | Time: 3pm – 5pm | Venue: Broadway Cinema, 14-18 Broad Street, Nottingham, NG1 3AL
Late last year, we lost the brilliant British poet Benjamin Zephaniah – this summer, Nottingham Poetry Festival is paying tribute to him, with a series of films by local filmmaker Ben Wigley featuring poetry by Benjamin Zephaniah, including ‘Paa Joe & the Lion’, ‘PS Your Mystery Sender’, and ‘In this World’, which features Zephaniah as he looks at the state of the world at a moment in time.
Local poets will pay tribute to Zephaniah and the films will be followed by a Q&A with director Ben Wigley and producer Anna Griffin, about their experience collaborating with the poet. Proceeds from ticket sales from this event will go towards supporting the brainstrust charity.
Immerse yourself in an evening of poetic expression and solidarity as we come together to celebrate Benjamin’s life. Your presence not only honours a cherished soul but also empowers brainstrust to continue our invaluable support for those affected by brain tumours.
Let’s gather in remembrance, weaving words into a powerful tapestry of support.
