brainstrust Meetups: a series of unique and revolutionary events for patients, carers, healthcare professionals, fundraisers and anyone who wants to work collaboratively in the battle against brain cancer.
At brainstrust we know that you don’t just have a brain tumour at 7 on a Thursday evening. And whether you have a brain tumour or arehelping someone who is poorly, not everyone wants to talk about what they’re going through in the same way. These are a couple of reasons why we don’t run support groups. Instead we are always on hand to talk to you over the phone, by email, and face-to-face 24/7, 7 days a week.
We were thinking though; whilst our approach is well received, and it means we can keep things personal, it would be great get to know you a bit better. It might be nice for you to get to know other members of the brain cancer community better too. So, we’ve decided to organise some ‘meet ups’. These aren’t support groups as such, there won’t be a counsellor on hand, by all means you can share information and find mutual support if you want, but the primary objective will be to say ‘hi’ and have some fun.
Don’t miss out – click here and visit www.meetup.com/brainstrust and find out more about our the very first brainstrust meet up now – places are free, but only available on a first come first served basis.
Whilst in the future we will help anyone to host a brainstrust ‘meet up’, (and they can host it anywhere!), the first will be hosted by us.
We’ll be meeting at Pizza Express in Winchester on the 16 March at 7pm. During the evening we’ll be sharing some of our exciting ideas for 2010 with the wider brain tumour community. If you’re interested, fancy an evening of exciting news, free pizza and a glass or two of vino, or just want to come along and say ‘hi’ then visit www.meetup/com/brainstrust or call 01983 292405 and let us know you can make it.
See you there!
