Alfred Duke’s Incredible 72 Hole Golf Day Challenge

‘72 holes, a 15-under total, and every step driven by the thought of those fighting brain tumours. If this helps Brainstrust support even one more family, it was all worth it as a way of us connecting and showing what powerful difference people can make when they all come together as a community to support a cause’
On October 30th, Alfred Duke undertook a huge 72 Hole (equivalent to 26 miles) Golf Day Challenge in support of his brother Harrison, who recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
“Harrison has always been the kind of person who brings light wherever he goes — kind, funny, and endlessly caring.”
Alfred and his family wants to not just support his brother, but ensure that anyone affected by a brain tumour is resourced, confident, and has guidance through what will likely be the hardest times of their lives.
‘Life has thrown him a challenge that has reminded us all just how strong and brave he truly is. As a family, we’ve come together to support Harrison through this time, but we want to do more, to help others who are facing similar battles too.”

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Alfred, who’s challenge has raised £5,075.13 so far! That’s over 10 times more than his original target of £500, and with plans to fundraise again in the future, we really can’ thank Alfred enough for his support of brainstrust and the brain tumour community.
You can still support Alfred by visiting his
Just Giving page. Alfred also has plans of hosting another golf day in the future to continue raising money for brainstrust.
‘Every donation, big or small, means so much. It helps to ensure Harrison has everything he needs on his journey, and supports an incredible cause making a real difference. Throughout our journey the Brainstrust has been invaluable providing personalised support and resources that helped us deal with life during the diagnosis the Brainstrust is a charity working with us to secure the best possible care for Harrison and they campaign to solve real issues. They understand what challenges people with a brain tumour face.”
