When life takes an unexpected turn, the right support can make all the difference. For Charlotte, being diagnosed with a brain tumour just after turning 26 was a life-altering moment. But through the uncertainty, brainstrust became a beacon of hope—offering the emotional and practical support she needed to find herself again. Now, she’s giving back to ensure others receive the same care.
In Charlotte’s own words;
When I was diagnosed with a large brain tumour just a few months after my 26th birthday, my world turned upside down. In the midst of overwhelming medical jargon and hospital
appointments, I began to lose sight of who I was. brainstrust helped me feel like a person again. They saw me—not just a diagnosis. After my operation, they provided counselling and
emotional support that helped me come to terms with the “new” version of myself. To me, brainstrust is so much more than just a charity – it’s a lifeline. In one of the most
frightening and uncertain times of my life, they offered not only practical support but genuine compassion and understanding. When you have personally experienced the impact of a charity like brainstrust, giving back becomes deeply personal. Fundraising isn’t just about numbers – it’s about hope, connection, and making sure others get the same support that helped me.
What would you say to others who might be thinking about fundraising for this cause?
Do it! Every pound raised helps someone feel supported, understood, and less alone. And the experience of fundraising is incredibly meaningful – you’re not just raising money, you’re helping to rebuild lives.
Charlotte raised over £100.00 for brainstrust which could fund two hours of coaching with one of our dedicated support specialists.
Thank you for your wonderful support Charlotte!
