We are pleased to announce that brainstrust has been awarded the PIF TICK – the UK’s only quality mark for print and online health information.

Evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.
To become a ‘trusted information creator’, brainstrust had to undergo an assessment showing it met 10 key criteria. This means that what you are reading, watching, or listening to is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.
PIF TICK manager Dan Wills said:
“We are thrilled to welcome brainstrust to our ever-growing community of accredited PIF TICK members. Accurate, accessible, evidence-based information is key to increasing patient empowerment and improving health outcomes.”
Gaining the PIF TICK is an important milestone in our charity’s mission. With so much information online, it can be difficult to know what to trust. When you receive a brain tumour diagnosis the quantity of information can be scary and overwhelming. With our PIF TICK accreditation you can now come to brainstrust knowing that our information is reliable, accessible, and trustworthy.
We hope this will help empower the brain tumour community with greater knowledge and confidence so they can take control of their brain tumour journey and feel empowered to make informed decisions.
Jodie Eveleigh, brainstrust Support and Information Lead says of this achievement:
“This demonstrates with authority that brainstrust’s health information is evidence-based, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard; something that we pride ourselves on. Having previously been a member of the Information Standard quality mark, which ended in July 2019, we are really proud that we have been awarded this new accreditation for our health information, which forms a big part of brainstrust’s support for people living with a brain tumour”.
