We are so grateful to our incredible Cambridge half marathon runners, who together raised over £5,000 to support people with a brain tumour.
Here’s just a few members of team brainstrust that took part!
Mikala
Mikala ran the Cambridge Half Marathon in memory of her dad, who passed away after a five year battle with his brain tumour. She raised an epic £1,936.74!
Annabel
“I chose brainstrust as my mum’s best friend has recently been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour which as you can imagine has been very upsetting and hard for her family. She has a daughter similar age to me which allowed me to relate to her situation and I decided I wanted to try and help her and her family. My friend was already running the half marathon which made me fully decide I would run it too, but needed a charitable cause for motivation!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our Cambridge Half Marathon experience and could not be prouder to have represented brainstrust.
This year we chose to run for Gilly Lee, our Aunt who recently passed away after fighting bravely against an aggressive brain tumour. We felt her spirit every step of the way. Choosing to run with an intention truly makes the experience that much more special and we encourage all runners to consider supporting amazing charities such as brainstrust.
brainstrust are a wonderful charity helping people who have recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour, they help them to find strength during a time that can feel dark and lonely. We are so grateful to each and everyone who contributed to our JustGiving page and supported us along the way – all contributions have certainly gone to a worthy cause!
Gilly will always be in our thoughts.
