Great news for our community in Scotland, and a sign of our enduring commitment to helping brain tumour patients, their carers and our supporters North of the broder, today we can share that we are officially a registered charity in Scotland.

Our new number, sent through by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator is SC044642.

We have a large, and growing community of patients across Scotland, all ably assisted by our Support Specialist, Carol Cochrane. We are committed to a number of exciting projects that stand to make a real difference to people battling a brain tumour in Scotland.

Moving forward, and with your support, we will:

  • Hold more Meet Ups across Scotland (each one costs between £300 and £500)
  • Build capacity to make our phone and email support response times quicker than ever (we’re already pretty fast mind!). It costs us £120,000 a year to keep the service up and running.
  • Hold training, education and networking events for brain tumour carers in Scotland (each day costs around £2000)
  • Employ more people to support patients in Scotland directly, at home, immediately after a brain tumour diagnosis (Up to £18,000 a year)
  • Support patient and carer focused research projects in Scotland.
  • Continue our work with the Beatson to get the UK’s first nationally accessible tissue bank up and running.
  • Continue to work closely with the Scottish clinicans to ensure that the Scottish Adult Neuro Oncology Network (SANON) is as patient focused as ever.
  • Develop support information that is specific to the brain tumour patient pathway in Scotland
