Sorry for getting a bit shouty in the headline, but we’re a just a LITTLE bit excited this weekend as brainstrust hero and brain tumour battler Daryl ‘Daz’ Gittins is running with the 2012 Olympic torch on Sunday.
This is great because first and foremost, Daryl well and truly deserves this honour. Daryl is a hero. He has raised well north of £12,000 for our work to support brain tumour patients and carers across the UK, and all whilst battling a brain tumour. Secondly, we hope that Daryl’s stint with the torch will instill his fighting spirit and endless energy on others battling a brain tumour, who will go on to fight just as hard as he is.
That’s all from us (too giddy to go on in a sensible fashion!), but we’ll leave you with a couple of links…
Daryl was recently interviewed by the BBC, click here – it’s a story well worth reading.
To see Daryl on the Olympic website, then mosey on over here to the London 2012 website: www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/torchbearers=daryl-gittins-313/
Have a super weekend!
Will and all at brainstrust
