Be Your Greatest
The Great North Run is an important day in our team brainstrust calendar. Through your blood, sweat and tears, over £25 million is raised for hundreds of charities each year. With your help, this year won’t be any different.
Although we can’t all get together to run the famous 13.1 mile route on 13 September, that doesn’t mean you can’t complete an epic running challenge in support of the brain tumour community. Here at brainstrust, we’ve seen an increase in the number of complicated calls on our helpline from people whose lives have been shaken by this pandemic. People like Mark*, who is unable to visit his wife in palliative care in hospital. Or Jemma*, whose surgery has been postponed because of the risks of contracting Coronavirus.
If you’re itching to hit the ground running, why not register to take part in Great North Run Reimagined – a campaign which hopes to recreate an experience as close as possible to the real event. Yes, this year is different. We won’t be on the start line, we aren’t waiting for you at the finish and you won’t have thousands of people cheering you on… but you can still put on your running shoes to make an incredible difference, raising vital funds in support of everyone who has been affected by the devastation of a brain tumour diagnosis.
From your training and preparation, right down to a virtual race experience, everything’s in place so that you can be your greatest.
Great North Run Reimagined includes the ‘Official’ Virtual Great North Run on Sunday 13th September. To read more about this, please click here.
With your help, we can still raise an incredible total to ensure we can be there for the brain tumour community when they need us most.
