Thames Trot Ultra 50 - The Boat Race
The ultimate challenge? This is probably for the seasoned runner who wants to show their support for people with a brain tumour. The Thames Trot is a 50 mile Ultra Run along the Thames from Oxford to Henley. And now you can take part to help people in the UK living with a brain tumour.
The Thames Trot is a great race to help you prepare for bigger (!!) races, or break into Ultra Running. Put on by Go Beyond, The event organisation is second to none, with 5 well stocked feed stations, transfer of one bag, and excellent way marking along the route. There's even a courtesy shuttle from Oxford train station to the start.
The race starts from the Prince of Wales pub in Iffley at 08:30 on the 7th February 2015, with registration open at 07:00. There's an 11 hour time limit.
The Thames Trot Course
From the pub there is a short jogdown to Iffley lock and after crossing the river the route takes the towpath heading South. The run follows the course of the Thames to that other great rowing venue, Henley a short walk from the railway station which is good for car parking or transport back to Oxford. If you join team brainstrust for this event, entry is free (usually £47.50), but so that we can do more to help people in the UK living with a devastating brain tumour diagnosis, we do ask you to meet a fundraising target - £200, but don't worry we can help you with this every step of the way.
